If you want to be a "super dad" for your kids, the formula is simple, all you have to do is make time for them. Here are some tips for solid relationship foundations.

Make time for your family

Before we explain, let me ask you a question, as a father, how do you show your children that they are important to you? Of course you do a lot of things for your children; For example, you make sacrifices to feed them and ensure that they live in a decent home. You wouldn't be doing these things if your kids weren't important to you. If you don't spend enough quality time with your kids, though, they may think you're more interested in your work, friends, or hobbies than they do.

So, when should a father start spending time with his child?

A mother begins to bond with her child while still in the womb. About 16 weeks after conception, the baby can begin to hear. At this stage, the father can also form a unique bond with his unborn child. He can listen to the baby's heartbeat, feel his kicks, talk to him and sing to him.

Good dads communicate well

To be able to communicate effectively with your child, you must be a careful listener. You should train yourself to listen to your child without overreacting. If your child thinks that you will get angry quickly and judge him, he will not be very willing to share his feelings with you. But if you listen calmly, you show that you really care about them. This increases the likelihood that your children will share their valuable thoughts and feelings with you.

Discipline and praise with love

Even when you are angry or disappointed, the discipline you give will show that you care about your child's long-term well-being and that you love him. This includes giving counsel, correcting, educating, and punishing if necessary. Remember, if a father praises his child often, his discipline will be much more effective. Praise develops the child's personality. Children develop good qualities when they see their parents approve and appreciate them. A father who looks for opportunities to praise his child helps the child to develop self-confidence and encourages him not to stop doing what is good.

Show respect and love to your spouse

The way a father treats his wife also undoubtedly affects children. A group of child development experts explains: “One of the best things a father can do for his children is to show respect for their mother. Parents who respect each other and help children realize this create a safe environment for their children.”
